SynALI™ lung-on-a-chip is a functionalized lung model composed of lung epithelial cells surrounded by a lung microvascular endothelium. The SynALI model maintains an Air Liquid Interface (ALI) across the airway cells, and allows for the formation of airway tubules, production and transportation of mucus and is supported and maintained by the surrounding endothelium. Cell morphology, airway structure, cell-cell interactions and functions of the airway (e.g., mucus transport, ciliary beating, therapeutic induced improvement) can be visualized and quantified in real-time in normal and diseased conditions. Human Small Airway Lung Model 

  • Monoculture using primary human lung bronchial epithelial or microvascular endothelial cells

SynALI Starter Kit: Select this for your first-time purchase. All the basic components required to run SynALI assays can be purchased in a kit format. The SynALI starter kit includes 12 chips, tubing, clamps, needles, syringes, pneumatic priming device (required for seeding cells).

Cells/Cell Lines: SynVivo offers human and animal lung cells and cell lines that have been tested and validated in the lung model.

SynALI Chip Options: Depending on your specific research applications you can select from Linear or Microvascular configurations.

Instrumentation: Syringe Pumps for cell seeding and maintaining flow based assays, stage top Incubator and inverted microscope for real time visualization and quantitation of your Lung assays
